He brings to this new post, a significant research profile and good experience in the practice of leadership. In July 2014 he became the first black male to be appointed to the Council of the British Educational Leadership Administration Society (BELMAS). He is also a Member of the Board of the Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration & Management (CCEAM).
Paul, who is previously Professor of Educational Leadership & Management at the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech) is the President of the Institute for Educational Administration & Leadership- Jamaica (IEAL-J), the CCEAM’s Jamaican National Affiliate – which hosts the twice yearly “Public Lectures in Leadership & Management” and the bi-annual [Intern]National Conference on Educational Leadership & Management.
He has over 60 publications and is the editor of “School Leadership in the Caribbean: Perceptions, Practices, Paradigms” and the author of “Exploring School Leadership in England & the Caribbean: New Insights from a Comparative Approach”. He is an Associate Editor for the journal “Educational Management Administration & Leadership”; an Associate Editor for the journal “International Studies in Educational Administration” and a co-editor for the journal “Power & Education”. Paul is also Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Paul received his PhD in Education from the Institute of Education, University of London; Masters of Laws from Middlesex University and his MBA and Diploma in Business Administration from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica.
